You just have to walk in someone else's shoes."
Cliche as it may be, it's true. We can all benefit by slowing down and taken a moment from our overly connected lives to "walk a mile in someone else's shoes." Individuals are just that because they have walked to and through different places than ourselves. This makes us each unique. Sometimes we meet people who may have stepped in the same puddles and it is easy to relate. Other times we cross paths with souls that we feel that we can never understand, but the latter is not true, only if you want it to be. As hard as it may be, taking the time to metaphorically slip on anothers walking instruments and place our selves in their space in time will divulge a deeper more complex understanding of what makes this individual tick. The process sometimes leads to a revelation that there may be more in common with the stranger than once thought. The stranger becomes an acquaintance which ultimately lends itself to more knowledge and understanding of the journey called life. Carry it forward and we learn and grow immensely from this but it all begins with slowing down just a little so that you have just enough time to try on a new pair of shoes every once in a while.
